Whether you’re feeling wildly in love… or lonely and alone… or excited to find new love, consider the power of the pen to make this Valentine’s Day sizzle with possibility that will last longer than a bouquet of flowers or a box of chocolates.
Instead, pour your heart and soul into an erotic short story, or even a novel.
If you’re wishing and wanting passion and pleasure, but not getting it, then channel your desires into characters and scenes that bring your write fantasy to life.
If you’ve got plans for a decadent indulgence in love and lust to celebrate V-Day, then chronicle the experience in writing.
Why?
Here are six sizzlin’ hot reasons!
- You can manifest your fantasies into reality. Something amazing happens when you put your wildest fantasies into words on paper or on your screen. They come to life! They are no longer dancing around in your head. They are now physical things. And since writing is a powerful manifestation tool, you may be activating energy in the universe to actually experience your greatest desires. Many years ago, while I was extremely unhappy and unsatisfied in a relationship, I envisioned my dream lover: their appearance, their swagger, their prowess, their stamina, their endurance—and my resulting euphoria. Then, in my journal, I wrote a detailed scene of our first encounter. I described the feelings and the thrill. At the time, I had no idea who this person was, or how I would find them. But guess what, within months, that scene I had written—was actually happening! And it was just as I had described it, only better!
- You could strike it rich by writing the next 50 Shades of Grey phenomenon. From a self-published novel, to multimillion dollar book and film deals, this trilogy shattered sales records and sold more than 150 million copies worldwide, as women devoured the provocative and erotic love story. Author E.L. James struck a nerve and created a global phenomenon. That could be you if you write a raw, authentic, and engaging story that’s unique to your imagination. You’ll never know unless you try. She wrote about BDSM, so don’t be scared to go all the way wild!
- You can express your ideas and philosophies through your sexy story. Back when I was first divorced, I was excited to embark on new romantic adventures after 10 years of monogamy. It was fun for awhile—but relationships fizzled, and I became disillusioned by te traditional relationship template that society provides. So I wrote about a company that provides fantasy marriages for women who are divorced and disillusioned by the fake fairy tale of the big white wedding and white picket fence. Now they want the power and the pleasure in relationships, in a way that’s safe for their bodies, mind, finances, careers, and reputations. And so the fictional world of Husbands, Incorporated—where the motto is “our business is your pleasure”—was born. I wrote a trilogy, following four couples who indulge the thrills of this husbands-for-hire erotic empire, while weaving in my beliefs. Is monogamy a myth? Is true love a lie? Would marriages be more fun if they lasted only one year, and the men are trained to play fantasy roles—hip hop star, baseball player, banker, boy toy, rock ‘n roll dude—and come to the marriage with skills that guarantee satisfaction?
- Finding the courage to write an erotic story boosts your confidence to speak up and act out in real life—in the bedroom and in business. When you break through a fear barrier, it makes you bolder in everything you do. That’s what happens when you put pen to paper and express your unspoken desires. Your creative juices burst through the dam that was holding you back from expressing yourself and experiencing those fantasies that were locked away in a secret chamber of your mind. Writing steamy stories boosts your confidence, because you found the courage to do something that had terrified you. Perhaps you feared what people might think… or wondered if it could hurt your career… or you felt embarrassed to write sex scenes… or you were anxious that people would view you differently. Well, what if this is the real you, and you’re finally letting her out to play!?!? What if your writing could delight readers everywhere by helping them retreat into your lush adventure and escape the stresses and pressures of daily reality? What if your story or book could prosper you and draw praise from readers and reviewers? The possibilities are infinite. But most importantly, doing something that you want to do—and making that reason enough—is fulfilling and even thrilling. You will be doing you in a powerful way, investing in your self-worth by pursuing a dream and making it happen.
- You’ll add an extra layer of intrigue for your lovers. If you can spin sexy stories like that, then surely you’ve got some skills and a wild imagination to take an erotic tryst to new levels. Well, whether that’s true or not, your prospective dates will view you through an alluring mystique. I speak from experience. “I have to admit,” a guy once told me, “I was a little intimidated to date a romance writer. I wanted to make sure my performance was worthy of writing about.” This made me smile with great mischief as I thought, Well, bring it on, then! Other romantic prospects have been inspired to conquer the creator of sexy stories, perhaps to add “erotic novelist” to their roster of conquests. Other times, I’ve read certain scenes to my lover, and the results are explosive. They respond with red-hot urgency, and I benefit from all that. This takes the pressure off you to orchestrate a seduction and keep it spicy; you already wrote it. Now you just have to read it to set off fireworks.
- You’ll have an outlet for pent-up desires. Actually, this is amazing. So if you’re alone with no romantic prospects for Valentine’s Day, and your body is aching for romantic release, consider this. Channel all your sex energy up into your brain, and you will ignite your creative genius. Sex Transmutation is the secret to tapping into your creative genius for writing. No joke. I’ve done some of my best writing while celibate. In fact, I wrote my erotic trilogy, Husbands, Incorporated, during a year-long, spiritual retreat. No sex, no meat, no dairy… just meditation, a strict vegan diet, yoga, and writing from breakfast ‘til bedtime. All that sex energy surges up to your brain, and magic happens. It’s really, really amazing. You can read more about it in Napoleon Hill’s book, Think and Grow Rich; I learned this concept in his chapter on Sex Transmutation. So, don’t consider yourself alone and lonely on V-Day. Consider yourself primed for writing some sizzlin’ hot erotica!
