Every Book Has a Story—Even After It’s Published
Elizabeth and I sat down recently and had our annual year-in-review meeting for 2025. The activity was highly insightful and we’re going to make this a tradition.
None of our books have made the New York Times bestseller list (yet). None have won a Pulitzer, a Booker, or a Lammy, but we have many Amazon bestsellers. While we welcome awards and accolades and bestseller bragging rights, our goal has always been to bring powerful stories to the world and give them a life of their own.
We are reminded of something we’ve believed since we founded Two Sisters Writing & Publishing over ten years ago:
Books don’t have expiration dates.
In fact, our top global top sellers for 2025 were published in 2019, 2023, and 2025, proving that a memoir published several years ago can still be exactly the book someone needs today.
Why We Chose Print-on-Demand
From the beginning, we made a deliberate decision to publish through IngramSpark.
Instead of printing hundreds—or thousands—of books that sit in a warehouse or someone’s garage, books are printed only when a reader orders one. That means our authors’ books stay available year after year without ever going “out of print.”
It’s a publishing model that makes sense for independent authors.

We didn’t start Two Sisters Writing & Publishing to specialize in one genre or chase publishing trends. We started it because we believe remarkable stories come from ordinary people willing to tell the truth.
What Connects Every Book We Publish
Looking across our catalog, you’ll find memoirs, leadership books, mental health journeys, stories of faith, LGBTQ+ experiences, business guidance, history, and books that don’t fit neatly into any category at all.
The common thread is authenticity. So many of our authors came to us and told us: “Everyone says I should write my story” or “I’ve been told sharing my story will help others.” Every book represents someone who decided their story was worth sharing. And every purchase represents a reader who said, “I want to hear it.”
We’ll never take that connection for granted.
Why We Keep Doing This
As publishers, we have the privilege of watching something remarkable happen again and again. From idea to outline to first draft to final draft to uploaded file on IngramSpark to global distribution! A book travels farther than its author ever imagined. A stranger picks it up. A life is touched.

Catherine M. Greenspan is an acclaimed author, editor, and co-founder of Two Sisters Writing & Publishing. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Writing from the University of San Francisco and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of Michigan, and has earned a Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages via the University of Cambridge. A past recipient of writing grants from the Sierra Arts Foundation and the Nevada Arts Council, Catherine has built an impressive career as a freelance writer and editor, with credits spanning cover stories, features, book reviews, and an interview with Nobel Prize–winning playwright Wole Soyinka. She is the author of the beloved Young Adult series The Veronica Series, and together with her sister Elizabeth Ann Atkins has written and published over 60 books — championing diverse voices and empowering writers around the world.
